Tour a thousand years of royal history. This low cost tour of city history covers the art and architecture of Westminster Abbey; symbol of royal England and site of Kate and William’s wedding. The tour  explains the history, architecture and art of the city. The Cicerone narrates this full day’s audio walking tour from Parliament Square, through Westminster City and ending at Buckingham Palace.

This walk takes you to Parliament for a fascinating glimpse into its foibles and successes.

Next The Cicerone takes his audio tour to Westminster Bridge where he gives the traveler a history of the ancient Celtic past and the real reason America left the empire.

We tour Whitehall Street and learn the history of the original home of royalty. We see where Churchill ran WWII.  We tour Horse Guards, royalty’s dramatic and colorful protectors. We stop at Banqueting House, the most beautiful dining room in the world. And The Cicerone shows us where King Charles made his brave appearance before the crowd that executed him.

Trafalger Square is on the tour. The Cicerone tells us its history and some amusing tales of England’s past. We learn why soil had to be brought from Virginia before the statue of George Washington could be erected.

The tour ends on The Mall, where the lavish homes of England’s royalty have been since Henry VIII. The Cicerone shows us where Charles and Camilla live. He shares shocking stories of royalty’s peculiar lives. We learn about naughty “Georgie Porgy Pudding and Pie”.

The Cicerone advises about low cost places to eat, and gives good tips about where to rest, shop and enjoy the city. The audio is about 60 minutes. The tour takes a full day, but can be broken down into several shorter walks. Large print map is included.
